Professional Registration with SACNASP

The South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP), is the legislated regulatory body for natural science practitioners in South Africa. 

The natural sciences encompass a wide range of scientific fields covering all basic sciences, including Statistical Science. As Statisticians, we are required by law to register with SACNASP. 

As a registered scientist, one is protected by the council through legal support when performing one's duty and the council ensures the upkeep of skills of all Statisticians through a CPD system. 

In addition, SACNASP offers annual support to the SASA conference and offers a mentorship program for novice Statisticians. We encourage all SASA members to register with SACNASP.
